I’m Gary Baxter, and welcome to Frame the Moment. Photography has been part of my life for a long time, but these days it’s less about running a business and more about sharing the things I enjoy: the photos I make, the places I explore, and the gear I’ve come to appreciate, particularly the character and capability of well‑used, older gear.

Relocating to England in 2022 offered a fresh perspective. The light, the landscapes, and even the ordinary scenes felt unfamiliar in the best possible way. Picking up a camera here reminded me why I started photographing in the first place. I continue to believe that strong images aren’t the result of owning the newest technology; they come from observation, patience, and genuine curiosity.

On this website you’ll find a selection of my recent work, reflections on the creative process, and practical guidance for getting the most out of any camera - especially older, second‑hand equipment. Every photograph featured here comes from a camera at least ten years old that can usually be purchased for less than $500 (£370). My aim is to show that meaningful photography is driven by the photographer, not the price tag of the gear.
